Float is a so called water clear, distortion-free glass type. The telling English name „float” comes from the floating technique applied in the glass manufacturing process.
Float glass basically looks transparent, however, the thicker the glass, the more apparent its greenish color. This glass type is widely used in insulating glass structures, as well as glass doors and internal glass walls besides being the favored glass for several other applications.
