Low-e Glass is commonly known as coated glass. It is called „coated” because through a special technique applied in the manufacturing process a thin layer of metal coating, invisible to the naked eye, is deposited onto one side of the glass.
This metal coating gives the glass a good insulating property making it ideal for use in insulating glass units.
It is mainly applied in front doors and windows, i. e. in surfaces where both good transparency and insulation properties are required.
