Notes

The glass thickness reccomendations in the table are only valid for standard 2 layer Insulating glasses, with upright installation and built in on all 4 sides
Always take into account the next higher table value in case of both width and height (eg. for a glass 155x260 look at the value in field 180x270)
The assumed wind and environmental loads are based on the German TRLV standard and DIN 1055
Considered as a rule of thumb at an upright installation of a glass not longer than 2m and not bigger than 3,2m2: a glass pane of 4mm is sufficiently thick
Linear loads, such as person-loads have not been considered
For monolitic (indoor) glazing, the value given for the internal panel can be taken into account in the 0-8m installation height column
In case of 3 layer glazing, the value for the middle glass can be the value given for the internal panel
The structures that are bigger than the ones in the table but produceable, are to be consulted about and the bulidup determined individually
The coloured fields of the table are currently not produceable by us
The specified values are to be considered as recommendations

Machining rules

any glass that has energy absorption index is above 40% must be provided with safety edge grinding (Ea>40%, two layer insulating glass value)
any glass that has energy absorption index is above 60% must be tempered (Ea>60%, two layer insulating glass value)
if there is low-e glass in the middle pane, it must be tempered
on big glasses above 6m the first edge must be grinded and the foil must be removed from the bottom edge

Customer specific needs

If the customer wishes to depart from the above recommendations (minimum glass thickness or machining), he may do so at his own risk, in which case he must sign the following text:
„On behalf of the Buyer, I declare that I wish to deviate from the Seller’s pre-specified recommendations for the order placed ……… (identification) and insist that Seller produces the glass product according to my order. I have been informed by the Seller about the risk of the technical content, the responsibility of any resulting problems is mine. I hereby disclaim any liability for deffective performance, warranty, and claim for damages arising from defective performance. The Sellers liability is excluded in this case.„
